Traffic signs and markings give you information, warnings about the danger and keep you safe from road accidents and injuries. There are seven different road signs you may find on BC highways. These are:  

• Regulatory Signs
  

These signs depict rules of the road and are specified by Motor Vehicle Act. These signs are in black or red color with information printed on them in white.

• Warning Signs

These signs are yellow in color with a warning sign in black print.

• Guide Signs

These signs show route numbers, destination, direction, distance, as well as other service information.

• Information Signs

These signs give you general information about the area like the rest area near your way.

• Construction Signs

These signs give you an alert to a nearby under a constructed roadway or a bumpy road. It helps you to control your speed before leading to that area. These signs are in orange color with black information.

• Services Signs

These signs are also attraction signs. These are in blue and white color. These show the nearby refreshment area, zoo, museum, and food place.

• Supplemental Traffic Signs

These supplemental traffic signs are the environmental awareness signs.
